“So we have to be careful about balancing new ideas with old ideas,” said Nester Zaualo, a social work student and Berwyn resident. “And give space for new voices and new ideas and some change…”
The definition of homelessness federal agencies use “needs to be amended,” said Barbara Duffield, executive director of SchoolHouse Connection.
Program affords families the opportunity to stay in neighborhoods they’ve lived in their whole lives and be protected from the rapid gentrification.
“I want my grandchildren to know about the monarch butterflies,” Claudia Galeno-Sanchez said.
There are roughly 9 million lead service lines still in use across the nation. Of these, 400,000 exist in Chicago.
